After the first goal, Melrose caught up to Malden High, keeping it a tie. By halftime, the girls were leading by one point. As senior Captain Felicia Lombardi stated ¨[t]he most difficult challenge of the game was being able to maintain a calm mentality when [they] were winning.”

The girls showed great sportsmanship when it came down to this, but as Lombardi stated, “[they did] not accomplish this” which led to the end result of the game: a tie.

Before the team moves on to their next game on September 30th, against Medford, senior captain Brynn Kankel hopes that the team “ work[s] on keeping [their] composure and communication more to make sure [they] don't panic.

Overall the tie by the girls between Melrose gave them determination for their next game.
