Q: How long have you participated in indoor track?
A: For four years, ever since freshman year.
Q: What first got you into track?
A: My brother was initially recruited for cross country so then I decided to continue on into track.
Q: What inspired you to stay in track so long?
A: Track has become a place for me where I can forget everything else that is going on in my life, and focus on something bigger than me. It allows me to spend time with my friends and it’s a way for me to stay fit and active.
Q: Are you thinking about pursuing track in college?
A: I haven’t decided yet but I will definitely continue running for myself if not with a team.
Q: How long do you practice?
A: The team practices 2 hours a day, 6 days a week.
Q: How do you practice?
A: During practice I try my best to keep the mood positive but when it comes to workouts and things like strengthening I take them seriously.
Q: What is one of the biggest goals you’ve accomplished?
A: A Lot of people didn’t believe me when I told them, but this year during our Somerville meet I came in first place for the very first time in indoor track. My teammates were happy for me and I don’t think I had run a race that hard in a while.
Q: What goals are you thinking about accomplishing this year?
A: Now that the indoor season is over, I’m looking forward to outdoor track and hope to be apart of Malden’s 4×800 relay and just ending my senior year on a good note.
