Boda Borg is expanding and it expects to allow more people in at once. Owner and CEO of Boda Borg, Chad Ellis, says that this expansion will “let more people quest without adding to lines,” considering they have had over 600,000 visits since they have opened.
According to the Boda Borg website, Boda Borg was first conceptualized and founded in Sweden in the mid 1990s. Most of the Boda Borgs are located in Sweden with a total of seven. The website also defines questing as “the DIY (Do It Yourself) version of movies, books, and video games!”
Boda Borg first opened back in October 3, 2015 in Malden and has been widely popular in the Malden and Boston areas. Because of this they often had to turn away people in order to keep their lines short. With this expansion they will be adding six new quests bringing their total to 25 quests. Ellis stated that it was something “[they] have always wanted to do” but had to wait until the couple that ran the store next door to them were ready to retire.
Ellis also added that the expansion “will let [them] provide an even wider range of experiences and to have more people quest with [them].” Ellis said that he hopes to build more on what they have been doing, with “more quests, better quests, and being able to welcome even more people to experience what [they] can do.”
Ellis wishes to open one or two quests for the summer of 2020 and probably save the rest until October 3rd for their “fantastic celebration of [their] fifth year in Malden.”
To play at Boda Borg participants would have to sign a waiver. Boda Borg is located at 90 Pleasant St. and is open every day with times varying on certain days.
