Symere Woods, generally known as Lil Uzi Vert is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Lately, Uzi has not been on top of his game when it came to him dropping songs and albums. Shockingly, on December 13 of 2019, he announced that he was going to release a new song and a dance video to go along with it. His fans had been highly anticipating this song and his second studio album, Eternal Atake, which Uzi also claimed he would drop in 2020.
On the 6th of January, he dropped the official music video for his new song, “Futsal Shuffle.” Uzi showed his fans how to do his new dance to the song. Ever since then, fans have been tripping and falling over their own feet in an attempt to do the foot shuffle and the dance.
Uzi did the dance in the music video and the fans had to agree that it’s definitely complicated. To do it, you have to first kick your leg forward, backward, and then to the side. Following that, you have to take the same steps with the other foot. The steps do appear simple however if you end up doing it wrong wrong or misplacing your leg, it could lead to your legs getting folded in the wrong direction. So, it’s definitely entertaining to dance along to the song however it’s each individual’s choice whether they want to risk their legs or not. There is also a lot of hand movement occurring at the same time.
The song is 3 minutes and 19 seconds long and is produced by Brandon Finessin, Star Boy, Loesoe, and Mayyzo. In starts off with the intro which includes both Uzi and Tyler, The Creator. Tyler included his own signature style which added versatility to the song. It was also a way to show how the media that the two became very good friends and still continue to support each other.
For the pre-chorus, chorus, and the rest of the song, Uzi rapped it on his own. The song is very upbeat and unique. It also popularized the genre of emo rap and opened up a new trend. Uzi has yet to reference how he came up with the title of the song. However, the dance is blowing up and taking over. We’ll have to wait to see but the “Futsal shuffle” might just be known as 2020’s dance.
